Client: Incommunities Ltd

Site: Fairhaven View, Idle, Bradford

Project Description: 11 New Dwellings

This contract was to construct 11 – 2Bed/4Person dwellings (5 semi’s and a detached) complete with new mains services and associated external works, on a reasonably tight slither of infill land, owned by Incommunities Ltd.

Access to site was quite restricted, as we had to work between several well established trees (each having a Tree Preservation Order) and a public footpath down the right hand side of site, and, a new retaining wall down the left hand, of which, had to be built at an early stage, as access later on was impossible.

Each of the properties were built in a complimentary artificial facing stone, with artstone heads and cill features, roofs were finished using concrete roofing tiles, windows were white upvc and the external doors were grained finish fibreglass, both products achieved Secured by Design criteria.

Although not visible, all surface water drainage had to collect within large diameter concrete pipes that lay under the new access road, installing these pipes created range of issues such as working at depths, near to the existing trees and, whilst other operations took place.

The completed site looks very fitting to the area and although it was a challenging project, all involved are pleased with the end product.
